Czechs disappointed – Slovakia is the king of the Championships

The sold-out sports hall in Nymburk eagerly awaited the peak of the World Championships in futnet – finals of triples. Ardent wishes of the most of attending fans was unfortunately not fulfilled by the Czech representation.

Well-playing proven Slovak assembly, Ján Brutovský and the Perun brothers, "wiped out" the Czech team smoothly in two sets. Pavel Kop, Radek Pelikán and Ondřej Vít played until 10:6, and afterwards coach Šmejkal sent the blocker/spiker Jan Vanke on the court. Vanke succeeded in scoring twice, but after that the Slovak team scored.

In the second set, which ended in a clear result of 11:4 for team Slovakia, all the five nominated players played their part on the court, including Petr Topinka. The weakest link in the game of the Czech team was clearly the interplay.

The Slovaks completed the Championships yet again with a hattrick. We can only hope, that at the next Championships, they will be desposed from the throne by the Czech team.

The third place match was held between France and Hungary. This very exciting match was finally won by the Hungarians, meaning that team Hungary reached a medal position in all of the disciplines. Congratulations!
